Let’s Draw: Action Poses the 3rd!
My lines seem to be getting cleaner, though I’m leaning slightly more on the vid refs for the preliminary sketches than the last couple sets. I altered the shawl a bit too, to match a sketch that was in my sketchbook. Makes more sense this way.
Kiri is too cute! I really need to figure out what to do with her.
Let’s Practice: Action Poses Again!
More of Kiri! I changed her outfit a smidge. Did a bit more with refs this time, grabbing stills from vids of random things (only 3 of them are un-ref’d, you can probably tell which xD)
This gave me some time to have some thinks about Kiri as well, and now I think I’d like to actually do a serious story with her, once I work up the skill….
And a fun story from while I was sketching:
I asked my sister what I should draw next. She replied, “She should be drinking something. With all that activity you have to stay hydrated!” And so I drew this. When she viewed the finished product, she told me, “Good, now she’s hydrated… Except the water’s poisoned.”
I just frowned at her and replied, “…You couldn’t have told me about the poison before? I wouldn’t have let her drink that if I knew it was poisoned, geez….”
Drawing Practice: Action Poses!
I gave myself the challenge last night of drawing full-body action poses, since this is something I never do. Essentially none of them are ref’d (the lower right was inspired by a still from a capoeira vid but the rest are from my head), so they’re a bit wonky, but I’m fairly pleased with this for now!
The girl here is an old character of mine from ‘04-ish, meant to be some sort of little assassin. I don’t know much else about her yet!
